Von Itajaí nach Magé

Im Flugzeug und danach / In the plane and afterwards

Wir sind jetzt in Magé, das ca. 50 km von Rio de Janeiro entfernt liegt. Da wir hier immer wieder Probleme mit dem Internet hatten, ist unser Blog-Beitrag aus Itajaí etwas nach unten gerutscht - klickt einfach mal rein ... echt super!

We are in Magé, which is approx. 50 km away from Rio de Janeiro. As we are having some problems with access to the internet, you might have lost our blog from Itajaí - just click there ... it was great!
In Cabo Frio

Okay, am Mittwoch (16.09.) sind wir von Itajaí aus nach Rio gefolgen und sind von dort aus dann 3 Stunden über Land mit dem Bus nach Cabo Frio gefahren. Das ist ein echter Touristenort mit super Stränden. Also hier ist übrigens noch Winter- 28 Grad! Das freut man sich aber sehr!!!

Okay, on Wednesday (September 16) we went from Itajaí to Rio by plane and from there we took the bus and went another 3 hours to Cabo Frio. This is a tourist place with beautiful beaches - awesome. It´s still winter in Brazil - which is 28 C. We enjoy winter so much!!!

Winterzeit / It´s winter time

In Cabe Frio haben wir Ralf & Liza Felsen getroffen, die uns herzlich aufgenommen und uns ihre dortige Arbeit gezeigt haben. Es war gut, das alles zu sehen und für sie zu beten. Trotzdem haben wir uns gefragt, was Gott wohl hier mit uns vorhat und haben ihn einfach gefragt. Heute kam Ralf und fragte, ob wir in ihre eigentliche Arbeit nach Magé gehen möchten. Magé hat 360.000 Einwohner - also recht groß - und die Arbeit der Felsens, die sie neben Cabo Frio noch machen, ist in einem ärmeren Gebiet mit vielen dunklen Brasilianern. Es hat gleich klick bei uns gemacht ... und jetzt sind wir hier.

In Cabo Frio we met with Ralf & Liza Felsen, who welcomes us and showed us their ministry. It was great to see what they are doing there and to pray for them. However, our question was: What does God have in mind for us? So we prayed. Today Ralf approached us with the idea to go to Magé. Magé has 360,000 inhabitants - which is quite big - and the ministry of the Felsens, which they are running besides the church in Cabo Frio, is situated in a poor area with man dark-skinned Brazilians. Immediately it clicked in our spirits ... and now we are here.

Bei der Arbeit / At work

Gleich nach unserer Ankunft haben wir uns voll in die Arbeit gestürzt und geholfen, das Gemeindegebäude zu renovieren. Das haben wir zusammen mit den Jugendlichen der Gemeinde gemacht und hatten jede Menge Möglichkeiten, sie kennen zu lernen, unser Portugiesisch aufzupolieren und es hat riesig Spaß gemacht. Es ist toll, was Gott an und mit diesen jungen Leuten tut. Sie kommen aus nicht einfachen Verhältnissen und haben erlebt, dass Gott rettet, heilt, befreit und verändert. Wir sind gespannt auf die nächsten Tage, bevor es Mitte nächster Woche weiter nach Rio de Janeiro geht.

Our first task after arriving here was to help renovate the building. Together with the young people of the church we painted walls, and had much opportunity to get to know the youth, brush up or Portuguese and we had great fun. It´s awesome to hear and watch what God has done in these young people´s lives. They come from a poor background and experienced that God saves, heals, delivers and changes individuals. We are so much looking forward to the next days before leaving for Rio de Janeiro next week.
