Texas Team

Seit 11 Tagen sind wir nun schon in Texas. Eigentlich ist alles genau wie im Wilden Westen: Ventilatoren, karges Land, Männer mit Cowboyhüten, Schlangen (noch haben wir keine gesehen) und Skorpione (die werden direkt eliminiert). Gleichzeitig ist alles amerikanisch BIG: Die Autos, das weite Land, einkaufen im Walmart ... sogar die Wespen sind riesig! Aber wir fühlen uns alle wohl hier!

We are already here in Texas for 11 days. It really feels like the Wild West! Ventilators, barren land, men wearing cowboy hats, snakes (we haven't actually met one yet) and scorpions (the are killed at once!). At the same time everythings is American BIG: cars, wide land, shopping at Walmart ... even the wesps are enormous! But we really enjoy our time!

Teils vormittags, teils nachmittags fahren wir mit dem "Cream&Sugar" Wohnwagen nach Austin und besuchen die Obdachlosen, denen unser Langzeit-Team hier schon jahrelang dient.

Some days in the morning others in the afternoon we take the "cream&sugar" trailer and go to Austin to visit the runaways our long-term team is ministering to for many years already.

Ansonsten unterstützen wir das Team hauptsächlich bei Renovierungs- und Umzugsarbeiten. Sie haben kürzlich ein Stück Land mit Häusern bekommen, wo sie nun endlich die Gelgenheit haben werden die Obdachlosen, die sie schon so lange kennen und zu denen zum Teil tiefe Freundschaft entstanden ist, aufzunehmen, ihr Leben und ihren Glauben mit ihnen zu teilen und ihnen so Hoffnung und Zukunftsperspektive zu geben.

Besides, we are mainly helping the team renovating and moving. Recently, they were able to get a lot with houses. Soon they will have the oppportunity to take in those runaways they already know for a long time, sharing their life and faith with them, thus giving them hope and perspective for their future.
