Es geht weiter ... nach Itájai! / We are moving on ... to Itájai!

Nach ein paar Tagen haben wir uns schon ganz gut an den brasilianischen Rhythmus gewöhnt. Man ist zwar früh wach, aber das eigentliche Leben auf den Straßen, in den Geschäften usw. startet erst am Nachmittag ... und wir mittendrin. Wir haben uns feste Zeiten gesetzt: gemeinsames Frühstück, Anbetungs- & Gebetszeiten, Abendmahl nehmen (machen wir jeden Tag) und dann gehen wir los und beten. Abends sind wir dann echt platt und genießen es, wenn unsere brasilianischen Freunde uns zum Essen zu sich nach Hause einladen.

After only a few days we have already adopted the Brazilian way of life. Though you get up early in the morning, life on the street starts only in the afternoon ... and we just join the flow. However, we have set a few times: we are having breakfast, and worship and prayer times together, share communion (we do that every day) and then we go out and pray. In the evening we are quite tired and enjoy the invitation of our Brazilian friends for a meal at their house.

Damit wir nicht immer Hände und Füße benutzen müssen, büffeln wir fleißig Brasilianisch. Die Brasilianer "freuen" sich über unsere Fehler und korrigieren uns gerne ... und wir profitieren davon.

To be able to communicate properly, we are learning and practicing the Brazilian language. The Brazilians "enjoy" our mistakes, correct and help us ... and we have the benefit.



Morgen geht es weiter ... nach Itájai. Dort erwarten uns drei Brüder, die gemeinsam ein Obdachlosen-Restaurant, ein Reha-Zentrum und eine Gemeinde haben. Wir sind total gespannt und freuen uns, neue Freunde kennen zu lernen. Da keiner der 3 Deutsch oder Englisch spricht, werden auch wir ausschließlich Brasilianisch sprechen. Na, das wird was ...


Tomorrow we move on ... to Itájai. There are three brothers waiting for us. Together they are running a restaurant for the homeless, a rehab center and a church. We are so excited to go there and are looking forward to making new friends. As none of these 3 is speaking a single word of English or German we will only communicate in Brazilian. My oh my ...
